Beech
Bend Amusement Park Becomes Winter Wonderland
Holiday
Lights Spectacular Opens Thanksgiving Night
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –
Holiday plans typically do not involve a trip to an amusement park,
but Beech Bend Park hopes this year will be different. For the first
time, the home of the Kentucky Rumbler coaster and a nationally
known racetrack will transform its grounds into a twinkling holiday
event for the whole family.
Beginning Thanksgiving
night, visitors can drive over two miles inside the park and enjoy
light displays while listening to a special radio broadcast of holiday
tunes. After parking, a short ride on the North Pole Express takes
guests to the Christmas Village where an outdoor ice skating rink
awaits. Warm up by the bonfire while roasting marshmallows or enjoy
other seasonal food and drink while watching holiday classics projected
on a large inflatable screen.
There will also be animals
to pet in Santa’s barnyard, Ho-Ho miniature golf and a Christmas
gift shop to keep everyone entertained in the Village. Several family
rides will be open as well as the award-winning Kentucky Rumbler
Wooden Rollercoaster. With more than 100 light displays planned,
many of them animated and synchronized, the view from the Rumbler
promises to be breathtaking, and the Holiday Lights Spectacular
is sure to become a tradition.
This new holiday attraction
will be open from Thanksgiving, November 22, through January 5,
2008 nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $15 per carload,
$25 per commercial van and $100 per bus. Ice skating is $5 for children,
$7 for adults plus an optional skate rental for $3. There will also
be a $1 to $2 charge for rides.
