Don't Rush Home after the Game

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – University of Kentucky Football fans are doing a little extra traveling this bowl season as the Wildcats take on East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl at Memphis, TN on January 2. If I-65 is part of your path, why not make it a long weekend and see some sites along the way!

In Bowling Green, visit Holiday Lights Spectacular at Beech Bend Park and ride the Kentucky Rumbler while overlooking millions of twinkling lights. Drive past over two miles of light displays before taking the North Pole Express hayride to the Christmas Village where an outdoor ice-skating rink, several family rides, photos with Santa and other fun activities await.

Enjoy roasting marshmallows, Santa’s Barnyard, Ho-Ho miniature golf, and the Gift Shop while visiting one of the Kentucky Tourism Council's 2008 Top Ten Winter and Holiday Events. Holiday Lights Spectacular is open nightly from 5-10 p.m. until January 3, including a safe, family-friendly New Year’s Eve Party with extended hours and fireworks. Daytime ice-skating also is available December 26- January 3. Call 270-781-7634 or visit their website to learn more.

Check on the expansion progress at the National Corvette Museum, which resumes its normal hours of 8-5 p.m. daily on January 2. The Kentucky Museum in the Kentucky Building on WKU's campus will resume regular hours on Saturday, January 3. Featuring the "Recommended by Duncan Hines" exhibit and the new "A Star in Each Flag: Conflict in Kentucky" exhibit on the Civil War, the Kentucky Museum is a unique, educational stop for all ages.
