Crystal Onyx Cave

One of Kentucky's most beautiful caves, filled with stalactites and stalagmites,
delicate crystalline draperies, and pristing rhinestone pools. The cave
is also a working archaeological site where ancient human remains have
been dated to approximately 680 BC. The archaeological site is part of
the tour, however, the human remains are not available for viewing. One
hour tours are available year-round.

Turn right onto Hwy 88 for 13 miles.
Re-opened to the public after 56 years, Cub Run features rare boxwork
speleotherms, highlighted by modern electric lighting and easily accessed
by renovated paths and wooden walkways. Otter Spring runs through the
cave where visitors can view blind crawfish and minnows.Enjoy lunch at
the Amish Restaurant and gift shop. Open Daily.

For over 147 years Historic Diamond Caverns has offered tours of Kentucky's
most beautiful cave. Conveniently located on the southern entrance to
Mammoth Cave National Park, this privately owned attraction is a must-see

At Hidden River Cave and the American Cave Museum, you will discover the
mysteries of the underground worlds of caves and caverns. The museum is
a state-of-the-art showcase of underground and natural history, featuring
dioramas and interpretive exhibits of cave history and groundwater dynamics.
From the museum, a four-story elevator takes you to the
impressive entrance to Hidden River Cave. The cave is an eight mile labyrinth
dissolved by a subterranean river flowing beneath the City of Horse Cave.
Your tour follows the path of the underground river as it cascades across
limestone boulders and descends into the unexplored depths of the earth.
With luck, along the way you might glimpse one of the Hidden River Cave's
rare eyeless fish or one of the other unique cave creatures that have
never seen the light of day.
A visit to Hidden River Cave and the American Cave Museum
is a scientific journey into the hidden wonders of the earth! The American
Cave Museum is the largest museum in the world dedicated to caves. Coupled
with Hidden River Cave right out the back door, this is the best opportunity
to learn about these amazing natural wonders.
The view from the museum cave overlooks is breathtaking.
From a four story perch situated above the landscaped sinkhole that leads
to the cave mouth, you can see an array of the native plants that make
this region so beautiful. After the elevator ride down, you step out into
beautiful gardens and feel the natural air-conditioning from the depths
of the earth, and begin the peaceful, winding walk to the fern-clad entrance
to Hidden River Cave...
Hidden River Cave is known as the greatest cave restoration
in the United States. The cave was closed for 50 years due to pollution,
but was revived and reopened by the American Cave Conservation Association
and the City of Horse Cave over a decade ago.

Kentucky Caverns offers a close-up view of both intricate and massive

Kentucky's only underground boat tour is offered at Lost River Cave. Ripley's
Believe It or Not maintains this is the shortest and deepest river in
the world. Over the years the cave has provided a haven for Native American,
both Union and Confederate forces and the infamous Jesse James. Your visit
will immerse you in the romance of this Kentucky Natural Wonder.

Onyx Cave is a colorful cave nearly everyone can enjoy. Guided tours are
about 30 minutes long, with few steps. The cave is a cool, comfortable
60 degree temperature year-round. Beautiful onyx formations can be seen
throughout. Tours of Onxy Cave are not strenuous and may be enjoyed by
young and old alike, but unfortunately are not handicapped accessible.
Cave tours start often (on demand) and are conducted by very efficient,
knowledgeable guides. Bring your camera and save the special memories
of your Onyx Cave tour. Ample free parking. Smith's Country Store featuring
Kentucky's finest mouthwatering country hams, crafts and souvenirs.

Outlaw Cave offers a 45-minute non-strenuous, guided tour filled with
beautiful stalactites, stalagmites and other breathtaking formations.
It has been said that famous outlaws such as Jesse James hid out in area
caves. Horseback riding and other attractions are located on site.
