Celebrating its 18th anniversary this year, the Duncan Hines Festival returns to Chaney’s Dairy Barn on July 11. Named a Kentucky Travel Industry Association Top 10 Summer Event for 2015, this year’s festival will be a real treat. Bring the family for an afternoon and evening of free fun, running 4-8pm. Enjoy everyone’s favorite Adventures in Good Baking contest, Uncle Duncan’s Duck Derby, play on the jumping pillow at Chaney’s, take a free hayride from 6-7pm, and more. Following the Duncan Hines Festival, be sure to catch the latest showing at Chaney’s Ice Cream & a Moovie! Also a free event, bring your picnic chairs and a blanket to watch “Paddington” on the side of the dairy barn. No outside food or drinks are allowed, but Chaney’s famous ice cream will be available for purchase. Ice Cream & a Moovie dates run twice a month during the summertime at Chaney’s and always feature family-friendly movies. Head downtown on Friday nights for free live music at the BB&T Concert in the Park music series. Enjoy live music at Circus Square Park on Friday nights 7-10pm with amazing talent in oldies, blues, rock and classic hits! Stay indoors and keep cool at the free shows at the Hardin Planetarium on WKU’s campus running three times a week! Catch an hour-long show every Tuesday and Thursday night at 7pm or Sunday afternoon at 2pm. The latest show is “New Horizons at Pluto” and runs through August!
