Community Day: 2nd Annual Gingerbread Homes for the Arts
Bring your family and friends on Saturday, November 19th, from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, as SKyPAC opens its doors for a community-wide Gingerbread Homes for the Arts celebration offering everyone the opportunity to build and decorate their very own Gingerbread House for $5.00, explore the Gingerbread Home contest entries, enjoy live entertainment performed by regional performers, and take photos with Santa Claus for $5.00. Art Lovers can take a stroll through the Merry Market – a marketplace for talented artists from across the state to exhibit and sell their creations.
Gingerbread Home Contest
Put your creativity to the test and entry the Gingerbread Home Contest! All entries must be per-registered by Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Entries will need to be delivered to SKyPAC on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Enter one of the three (3) categories for a change to win! Judging will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2016. First, Second and Third Place Winners in all three categories will receive exciting valuable prizes to be announced very soon! A “People’s Choice Award” will be determined by the most votes during our three day event.
- Professional Category: Open to anyone who currently or previously has received payment for their cake/pastry skills or is a trained professional. Professional category is also open to artists and non-bakers.
- Amateur Category: Open to school groups, churches, organizations, businesses, individuals, families, or groups of friends.
- Youth Category: Open to individuals or teams ages 12 and under. Adults may only supervise and cannot contribute to building or designing the gingerbread house.
