Happy Birthday, Earth! Interpreting the Narrative of our Ancient Earth is playing at the WKU Planetarium May 15 thru June 26, 2018. Let's go back to the beginning. So how old is the Earth...and how do we know? Humans have learned to read the story left behind in the Earth itself. In the late 1800s, various tests established the age of the Earth to be at least one hundred million years. With the discovery of radioactivity, we determined the Earth to be about 45 hundred million years old. This presentation leads us through the mystery of Earth's origin and provides a startling and inescapable conclusion as to when it all began.
The show will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and the show is suitable for all ages. 45 minute running time, with time for questions at the end of the presentation. Please note that the show will begin on time, with no late entrance permitted. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
