New Kentuckians ExhibitVisit Website
Take a look at immigrating to Kentucky through the eyes of children in this special exhibit in the Kentucky Museum's Community Gallery. Images in this exhibition are compiled from the drawings and stories of children in two English as a Second Language classes taught at Parker-Bennett Elementary in 2001.
There are two narratives told in this exhibit, stories of places left behind and of new beginnings. Children from Bosnia, Mexico, Laos, El Salvador, Vietnam and Cambodia chronicled through art and narrative their arrivals to the United States in the 1990s.
The exhibit will be displayed from August 26, 2017 through February 2, 2018.
