Water Wheel Songwriter RoundsVisit Website
The songwriter rounds held monthly at Lost River Cave feature very accomplished songwriters from the Bluegrass State, Nashville and as far away as Toronto, Canada. These shows provide an opportunity for those attending to hear original songs (many of them having been hits) performed by the people who actually wrote them.
Aug. 13: Les Kerr, Skip Clevenger, Rebecca Baumbaugh, Bethany Pedigo, & Dan Modlin
Nashville singer-songwriter Les Kerr, and outstanding instrumentalists Skip Clevenger and Rebecca Baumbaugh will join Dan Modlin in the round for an evening of acoustic, original music. Les is the featured performer each year at the famous Bluebird Café’s Mardi Gras concert in Nashville. Skip and Rebecca are crowd favorites who specialize in Celtic songs. The special guest for the evening will be recording artist Bethany Pedigo, who recently released her new album.
Sept. 10: Brady Seals, Gordon Kennedy, & Dan Modlin
Outstanding Nashville songwriters Brady Seals and Gordon Kennedy will join Modlin. Brad (“Try Not to Think About What Might Have Been”) wrote several of the biggest songs — and was the lead singer — for the hit country band Little Texas. Gordon is a superb session guitarist who earned the Grammy Award for writing “Change the World” for Eric Clapton. He has also written more than a dozen songs recorded by Garth Brooks.
Oct. 8: Paul Jefferson, Joe Hash, & Dan Modlin
Hit Nashville songwriter/recording artist Paul Jefferson (“That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You”), Nashville writer Joe Hash (“Behind Bars”) and Modlin will perform. Since Paul and Joe both stepped out of their leagues when they married talented women who are originally from Canada, we have decided to play this show in recognition of Canadian Thanksgiving Day. This is sure to be a lot of fun — so join the celebration!
