Whether you've been dealing with depression your whole life or suffering from a current situational depression, you can learn various yogic techniques to balance your mind & body. Suguna Mukthyala, PhD is a licensed professional clinical counselor and has been teaching and integrating yoga in the treatment of mental health issues over the last few years. She is trained in the viniyoga tradition under many internationally known teachers.While viniyoga is offered to cater to an individual’s needs, it can sometimes be applied in group settings where a common condition is addressed. Beginning June 4th, Suguna is going to be teaching Yoga through Depression: 8-week series to help you balance and restore both the physical and emotional body. Each class will be one and a half hours long. Along with asanas (yoga postures), we will utilize pranayama (breathwork), bhavana (meditation) and mantra (repetition of a sound or phrase ) will be incorporated into the series to help aid in the process of addressing the causes of depression. If you are experiencing symptoms of depression and want to address the causes in a safe yoga therapy group please call 270-799-8070 to set up a 15 min in-person interview in order to reserve a spot in the series. First session must be attended in-person and all following classes will be available in-person or virtually. (Class cost breaks down to $25/session - installment plan available!) The series cannot be substituted for psychotherapy.
