Downtown Bowling Green's outdoor amphitheater is the site of many festivals and events throughout the year. With over 4.5 acres of lush grass and landscaping, the park also includes a refreshing water feature that is very popular in the summer and available for splashing Memorial Day through Labor Day unless there's an event. Free Concerts in the Park Friday nights in July and August and home of the Bowling Green International Festival held the last Saturday in September.
If nature calls while enjoying an event downtown, head over to the restored 1921 Standard Oil Station situated on the corner of the park at College St. and 7th Ave. This award-winning preservation project now features public restrooms inside (open during special events) and a fabulous photo opportunity outside, quickly becoming a must-see stop for auto enthusiasts, history buffs, and general visitors to the city. The building's history is explained on a full-color storyboard.
