Lost River Cave & ZiplineVisit Website
Open seven days a week. Boat tours take place between 10am-4pm, and the gift shop is open from 9am-5pm.
Lost River Cave is open! The nature site reopened its hiking trails from dawn to dusk starting May 25. Wildflower Gifts and the cave boat tour both reopened at a limited capacity on June 8 for patrons wearing face coverings.
Kentucky’s only Underground Cave Boat Tour and treetop Flying Squirrel Zipline await you at Lost River Cave. Choose to explore or soar into adventure as you discover this Kentucky natural wonder!
Explore! Daylight disappears from view as you board the boat on the river that Ripley’s Believe it or Not claims is the shortest and deepest in the world. The guided tour begins along the river’s edge with stories of Native Americans, Civil War troops, and the notorious Jesse James. The cave sometimes floods, and when that happens, take the Historic Valley Walking Tour, available March through November if the cave boat tour is canceled.
Soar! The Flying Squirrel Zipline will have you flying through the treetops and zipping over the valley’s largest blue hole surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. LRC's professional guides will lead you on an exhilarating 3-zip adventure.
Discover! The seasonal Butterfly Habitat, nature trails, picnic areas, and a favorite children's activity, the gemstone sluice. Wildflower Gifts offers apparel, home decor, collectibles, jewelry, Kentucky food products, fossils, and more.
Just looking to stretch your legs and enjoy some fresh air? Enjoy the valley's blue hole trails at no charge by simply checking in at the Visitor Center to let them know you're there. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the valley.
Open year round, 7 days a week. Walk-in visitors are always welcome, or you can reserve your spot on the Underground Boat Tour (daily) or Zipline (seasonal) on the Lost River Cave website. The Zipline will open mid-March.
