Visit Glasgow-Barren County

Enjoy a relaxing drive to Glasgow... it's worth the time to visit! Just a little over 30 miles east of Bowling Green via I-65 and the Cumberland Parkway, Glasgow-Barren County is full of historic charm. Founded in 1799 by a group of Revolutionary War veterans, the city boasts historic homes and buildings, museums, a downtown walking/driving tour, and a Civil War fort.
It’s a perfect portrait of an American hometown, which is why it’s easy to understand that people want to come back here. Head to Barren River Lake State Resort Park for outdoor recreation, South Central KY Cultural Center and Fort Williams for history, and then catch some live music at The Grove.
Plan your visit around one of the state's top annual events for families, the Glasgow Highland Games, held the first weekend of June each year. More details for it can be found in the Events section.
