Bowling Green is primarily known for two things: caves and cars. While you’re here you can descend 400 miles into the earth to take a tour of Mammoth Cave and watch a Corvette be built while touring the GM Corvette Assembly Plant. If you’re not interested in walking through Mammoth Cave, you can stay a little closer to town and take a river boat tour of the Lost River Cave. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the underground cave. After being underground, some fun in the sun is in order, especially in the summer. Head over to the Beech Bend Park & Splash Lagoon to ride water slides and race go karts. When you’re ready for lunch, head over to Chaney’s Dairy Barn for some food, playtime on the playground and delicious ice cream.
Bowling Green is home to the world’s largest cave. Take a tour into the depths at Mammoth Cave National Park. Bowling Green is also known for being “geared for fun” with many car-oriented activities and tours for visitors and locals alike. Whether you’re a car fanatic or not, stop by the National Corvette Museum. The museum is home to 70 corvettes, some of which are race-winners, classics, prototype-models and rare finds. In the lobby you can get your photo op while sitting in a Corvette or, for an additional fee, take a ride in one. If you’re traveling with little ones, be sure to stop by the KidZone for interactive activities. Next for car fans is the GM Corvette Assembly Plant where you can watch as the crew builds a real Corvette.
