Cheeseburger Week
Beginning on #NationalCheeseburgerDay, Sept. 18, Bowling Green will celebrate its first Cheeseburger Week! Joining the ranks of other cities that celebrate the classic entrée, BG will kick off the week each year in September, starting this year. Participants will be entered to win a prize basket from the Bowling Green tourism office. For more information click here.
Skeleton’s Lair
The unofficial destination for fear and fun in Bowling Green and Warren County during the Halloween season, enjoy the Skeleton’s Lair Scream Park – if you dare. Haunt lovers can enjoy four fright-tacular attractions with the purchase of general admission tickets. The season opens on Sept. 23! This year is the 45th anniversary of the “Halloween” movie franchise and celebrity guest Tyler Mane will visit Bowling Green. Mane played Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” (2007) and “Halloween II” (2009). For more information on Skeleton’s Lair, click here. Chaney’s Dairy Farm Corn Maze
This year celebrates 20 years of Chaney’s corn maze! Now open for the season. Enjoy six acres of fun at $6 a person with a portion of ticket sales benefiting Stuff the Bus Foundation of SOKY. The corn maze is open during regular business hours, but tickets will not be sold after 8 p.m.
Scarecrow Trail
Stroll along Lost River Cave’s trails and appreciate the additions of some fun, fall characters with the Lost River Cave Scarecrow Trail. Created by local businesses, organizations and families, the 12th annual event will occur Saturday, Sept. 30 and run through Sunday, Oct. 22.
Gypsymoon Marketplace
The state’s premier Christmas market is back! GypsyMoon Marketplace is hosted bi-annually and this year will celebrate eight years of hosting more than 1,000 artisans, creators and small business owners from across the country. The event differs from others because shoppers can arrange intimate shopping sessions for one-on-one time in vendor booths to help avoid crowds and enhance their shopping experience. Tickets are on sale Sept. 17 and the event takes place Nov. 9 through Nov. 11!
Jackson’s Orchard
Unique to Bowling Green is a family-owned Jackson’s Orchard. Beginning Saturday, Sept. 23 and occurring every weekend until the end of October is Jackson’s premier Pumpkin Festival which means family fun for all. The festival includes wagon rides, pick-your-own pumpkins, a petting zoo, pony rides and more. The Cider Slider, a giant apple-shoot type slide, is also a hit with the kids.
