Bowling Green, Ky. – January 9, 2015 –Beech Bend Raceway was awarded Track of the Year at the National Mustang Racing Association (NMRA) awards ceremony in Indianapolis at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show on December 12. More than 48,000 racing professionals from 72 countries attend the PRI Trade Show annually.

Dallas Jones, owner and operator of Beech Bend Raceway, received the award from the NMRA with his family by his side. The NMRA series is a nationally contested Mustang drag racing series that hosts events across the country. Every year a track that has been an exceptional partner, from pre-race promotion to the facility amenities and providing gracious hospitality.

Mike Galimi, editor of Race Pages, the official publication of the NMRA, says the relationship between the racing series and Beech Bend is very professional and produces high-profile events.

“We feel that Beech Bend Raceway has always embraced us and works with us to help grow the event bigger each year and is a great host to nearly 1,000 participants and many thousands of fans,” Galimi said. “For many years the race attracted such a large fan base that we began running into a traffic problem. Dallas [Jones] and his [Beech Bend] staff came up with a better system to help eliminate it and make that a less stressful part of running our event. That is just one of many components that he and his staff have worked on improving to help make the NMRA event a pleasurable one.”

Galimi says he’s been coming to Beech Bend since 1998 and the atmosphere Bowling Green provides to event participants is ideal and that the city is one of his favorite places to visit while traveling with the racing series.

“I have been to the biggest tracks across North America, including the "super" drag strips that are the crown jewels of drag racing facilities, but Beech Bend Raceway continues to be one of my favorites--from its gorgeous piece of property to the personal touch you experience going through the gates,” Galimi said. “Its [Beech Bend’s] location in proximity to hotels and restaurants removes the stress of post-race activities and downtown Bowling Green is a wonderful city to visit.”

Beech Bend Raceway is hosting two NMRA events in 2015, the Muscle Car Nationals running May 15-17 and the All-Ford World Finals happening October 1-4. “The overall experience from the track to the town setting makes it one of my favorite stops on tour and I am excited that we are visiting that area twice in 2015,” Galimi said.

Bowling Green is becoming an even larger hot rod and Corvette event hub and will host 12 major national auto shows this year at venues like Beech Bend, the National Corvette Museum and the NCM Motorsports Park. Beech Bend Raceway hosts annual and new drag strip and oval track racing events March through November. For more information, please call 270-781-7634 or visit http://www.beechbend.com
