Bowling Green, Ky. – January 9, 2017 –Beech Bend Raceway was recently recognized as the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) North Central Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Track of the Year at the annual North Central Division awards banquet held in Indianapolis in December.

In 2016, the JEGS SPORTSnationals presented by Quick Fuel Technology returned to its birthplace at Beech Bend Raceway, which hosted the original event from 1974-1981 and 1985-1986.  The Memorial Day weekend event was successful with a record-setting participant count.

Beech Bend Raceway also hosted other major NHRA events in 2016, including the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion in June and the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series North Central Division Finals in August.

“Bowling Green is a nationally-recognized hot rodding city because of all the people that make Beech Bend Raceway an ideal venue blending nostalgia and high energy,” Vicki Fitch, Executive Director at the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, said. “Being the hometown of a Track of the Year is a great honor and we look forward to the exciting events racing season brings.”
