Kentucky travel and tourism businesses and marketing organizations vie for awards in 21 separate categories during the annual competition produced by KTIA. A panel of out-of-state experts judged entries from across the state for this year’s presentation of awards.

Traverse Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing are open to Kentucky Travel Industry Association members marketing a tourism product or service in Kentucky. All entries must have been published or distributed within the past year. Each entry is judged for concept, creativity, design and how well it relates to its audience.

“This year we had almost 300 entries for the Traverse awards. Our professional judges were amazed by the quality work they saw and had an extremely hard time choosing the winners. Each winner was deserving of the award they received for their hard work and dedication to the tourism industry,” KTIA President/CEO Laura Cole said.

KTIA is a Frankfort-based state association that represents every segment of Kentucky’s tourism industry. The 950-member Association offers continuing education programs, works in the area of governmental relations, produces four statewide travel conferences each year and provides legislative advocacy for Kentucky’s travel industry.
