Bowling Green, Ky.—October 27, 2014—The Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau received two awards at the 2014 Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s (KTIA) Traverse Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing competition.
The CVB received Bronze Awards for Social Media and Promotional Video during the Traverse Gala held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center as part of the 2014 KTIA Annual Conference.

“We’ve been working hard to integrate more of our ‘Geared for fun!’ branding tagline into our social media promotions this year, especially with our free #gearedforgiveaways contests,” Telia Butler, Public Relations Manager at the CVB, said. “Social media is one of the many components the CVB uses to brand Bowling Green as a destination and it’s an honor to receive this award.”

The promotional video recognized at the KTIA conference had a “Geared for Family Fun” theme furthering the destination brand and showcasing several Bowling Green family-friendly attractions like Jackson’s Orchard, the Kentucky Museum, Riverview at Hobson Grove, Beech Bend Park and Raceway and Lost River Cave.

Kentucky travel and tourism businesses and marketing organizations vie for awards during the annual competition produced by KTIA.  A panel of out-of-state experts judges entries from across the state for this year’s presentation of awards. Traverse is open to KTIA members marketing a tourism product or service in Kentucky.  All entries must have been published or distributed within the past year. 

KTIA is a Frankfort-based state association that represents every segment of Kentucky’s tourism industry.  The 950-member Association offers continuing education programs, works in the area of governmental relations, produces statewide travel conferences each year and provides legislative advocacy for Kentucky’s travel industry.
