BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –September 17, 2013—Downtown Bowling Green will be hopping with hot rods on Thursday afternoon and evening as the Freedom Road Rally rolls into town. The rally has provided participants with weeklong classic car vacation experiences across the country since 2004 and this is the event’s first visit to Bowling Green. This Freedom Road Rally event, part of a weeklong tour of Western Kentucky and Tennessee running September 15-20, is scheduled to make a pit stop on Thursday, Sept. 19 at Circus Square Park, the Standard Oil Station and SKyPAC.

Rally drivers and local hot rodders alike are invited to take one-of-a-kind photos with their cars parked in the award-winning restored 1920s Standard Oil filling station at Circus Square Park. Locals are encouraged to bring their own cameras and cars for this unique free photo opportunity beginning at 3pm, as the rally drivers are expected to start arriving by that time.

As part of the Freedom Road Rally event, SKyPAC is opening its lobby to the general public and rally drivers from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Classic car enthusiasts are invited to stroll Circus Square Park and the SKyPAC grounds to take in the sleek and shiny vintage cars that make up this exciting event. Locals are encouraged to park their vintage cars along College Street in front of SKyPAC with overflow at the surrounding parking lots, and Freedom Road Rally drivers are encouraged to park in the special events lot behind SKyPAC.

The photo opportunity area at the Standard Oil Station will be closing at 5:45 p.m. and the SKyPAC lobby will close at 7:30 p.m.
