Bowling Green, Ky.—May 8, 2014—The Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KTIA) has selected the 12th Annual Holley NHRA Hot Rod Reunion as one of its 2014 Summer Top 10 Festivals & Events.
Held at Beech Bend Raceway June 12-14, Bowling Green awaits hot rodders rolling back into town.
Named one of the 10 Premier U.S. Events by Painless Performance & Street Rodder magazine, the reunion includes activities at the Beech Bend drag strip and Holiday Inn University Plaza Hotel all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Classic events like the Show ‘N’ Shine, exhibition runs, drag racing, honorees reception, a parade of champions and Cacklefest are just a few of the features of this year’s reunion. Admission is $25 per day at Beech Bend or $65 for all weekend.
“Rolling out the red carpet for hot rods is what Bowling Green does best,” Telia Butler, Public Relations Coordinator at the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau said. “The hot rod reunion generally brings over 35 thousand people to the area over the course of the weekend and gives a great boost to the local economy.”
All KTIA Summer 2014 Top 10 Festivals & Events winners will be featured in the June issue of Kentucky Monthly magazine.
A panel of impartial judges selects the KTIA Top 10 Festivals & Events for each season. Criteria for selection include the popularity of the event, its impact on the local tourism economy, along with cultural and historical significance.
KTIA is an 850-member statewide association representing all sectors of the state’s tourism and travel industry. As the voice for the travel industry, KTIA is committed to promoting and strengthening the common objectives of travel partners.
