The Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau hired Darius Clement as its new Sports Sales Director. Clement is responsible for leading the bureau’s local, regional and national efforts to bring sporting events and tournaments to Bowling Green and Warren County.

Clement, a Bowling Green native, brings knowledge and experience that will be used to promote Bowling Green as a sports tourism destination to generate new opportunities within the community. He will work internally with the BGACVB team to implement effective marketing strategies and develop customer engagement strategies and will also maintain close working relationships with area hotels and facilities.  Clement attended Campbellsville University on a basketball scholarship and is a two-time graduate from the university with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Sports Administration (2018). Clement coached at Campbellsville University for the last seven years, one year as a graduate assistant coach and six years as an assistant coach and head JV coach.

“I am extremely excited to be returning home,” Clement said. “The Bowling Green/Warren County area continues to grow and has much to offer. Sports tourism brings a positive economic impact to our community; I look forward to promoting our community as a premier destination to sporting event planners.”

Prior to his Campbellsville University experience, Clement graduated from Bowling Green High School where he was a member of the Purples’ basketball team.
