Bowling Green is located in cave country, and we’re lucky to be home to multiple great attractions that have made the most of our karst landscape. Let’s take a closer look at how to explore the underground in and around Bowling Green.

Lost River Cave is a must experience underground boat tour. Hop aboard and glide atop subterranean waters that hold history beyond Bowling Green. Learn about the caves history as the guided tour begins along the river’s edge with stories of those who have inhabited the cave in years past such as the notorious Jesse James, Civil war soldiers and party goers during the prohibition era who attended the Cavern Nite Club. The areas premier naturally air conditioned, cave night club!
Lost River is located on a 72-acre urban park that provides an escape from the city that surrounds it. Nestled into a wooded valley with trails that wind through the areas signature blue holes, visitors can explore the beautiful environment that surrounds the cave. Other activities include a seasonal butterfly habitat, visitor center and giftshop, outdoor play space, gem sluice and snack shack.


MammothCave

Venture a short 45 minutes outside of Bowling Green to explore the world’s longest known cave system, with over 426 miles map and more yet to be discovered, Mammoth Cave National Park is a can't miss experience. A variety of tours are offered from accessible and laid-back experiences that show off the history and can’t miss sights of the tour, to wild cave tours that have you on your hands and knees exploring sights few have dared venture to. You can also enjoy the surreal beauty of the area aboveground by Cututilizing the trails in the area for nature walks, biking, horseback riding as well as canoeing or kayaking down the Green River.
