Shanty Hollow Lake and its surrounding trails remains open for safe, socially-distanced recreation for small groups of up to 10.
This 114-acre lake in Warren County is a great escape to nature just north of the city past the Richardsville community. Hiking trails, fishing, mountain biking, and boating are popular activities in and around this lake maintained by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.
Dozens of waterfalls can often be seen along the trails in late winter and early spring. The terrain is moderately easy but obstacles may be along the trail, so please use caution. Some of the property just beyond the lake is privately owned, so also please be respectful.
Directions from BG: Travel north on KY 185 past Richardsville, turn right on Lake Road/KY 1037, and in approximately 2.5 miles, turn left on the access road, or Shanty Hollow Road/KY 1592 and follow to parking lot and boat ramp.
