Live Music

in Bowling Green

The Everly Brothers sang, "A man in Kentucky sure is lucky to live down in Bowling Green..."

They may have been referencing the pretty girls in their hit song, "Bowling Green," but it's also very true of our local music scene!  Heralded by Forbes magazine as "the underrated music city outside of Nashville that everyone needs to visit" (article link here), many past and present residents believe there's just something in the water.

Being one hour north of "Music City, USA" definitely has its advantages, but not just because it's so close you can drive to see great live music. Bowling Green has an almost incubator effect in producing great musicians. The bonus is that Bowling Green venues are also an awesome training ground for Nashville's up and coming performers or those who may be bringing their careers closer to home.

You may recognize the names of some of the homegrown talent Bowling Green has cultivated through the generations... the "Father of Ragtime" Ernest Hogan, the "Father of Newgrass" Sam Bush, and the trail-blazing indie rockers, Cage the Elephant. Check out these venues and organizations to see who may be gracing local stages during your visit to Bowling Green!
