BOWLING GREEN, Ky.,—June 17, 2013—The Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (KBC MPI) has awarded the 2012-2013 “President’s Award” to Duncan Hines of the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The President's Award is given at the discretion of the President of KBC MPI to someone who has truly helped him during his year as president. Hines, Group Sales & Services Director at the Bowling Green Area CVB, has been a dedicated member of KBC MPI for six years.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers for my commitment to the industry,” Hines said. “MPI offers a great educational opportunity for expanding our knowledge base as meeting professionals.”
Hines has been previously recognized at KBC MPI for his endeavors in the meeting professionals industry. During the 2011-2012 fiscal year, he received the “Committee Member of the Year” award.
Steve Burke, President of KBC MPI, said Hines is an invaluable asset to the industry and has invested many hours of time and talent into creating a better overall experience for fellow chapter members.
“Duncan Hines has been involved in KBC MPI committee and board work for several years,” Burke said. “Most recently as Director of Member Care, he introduced creative and fun ways of ‘structured networking’ at our monthly programs. I have no doubt that this has helped our excellent membership retention rate.”
