It’s revving up to be a busy year for local motorsports enthusiasts and those visiting Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (January 11, 2024) – The summer’s hottest and largest traveling car and truck show is cruising through Vette City this June. The annual MotorTrend HOT ROD Power Tour celebrates 30 years in 2024 and will return to Bowling Green on June 10. Considered to be one of the most high-end hot rod tours in the world, Power Tour will bring more than an estimated 6,000 participating vehicles and 100,000 spectators to the Southeast/Midwest regions throughout the week. This is one of the several world-class automotive events to take place in Bowling Green this year.

“We’re extremely excited to welcome Power Tour back in 2024 - their last visit to Bowling Green was in 2017, so what better time for their return than on the heels of such an impactful year for tourism?” said Sherry Murphy, executive director of the Bowling Green Convention and Visitors Bureau. “With Bowling Green being the middle destination for several days of the event, we anticipate most attendees to stay in town, which will keep our hotels, restaurants and other attractions very busy.”

The first stop on the tour will be in Bowling Green on June 10, where participants will then travel to Lebanon, Louisville, Hebron and Indianapolis following the consecutive days of the event. The full event roadmap is below:

  • KICKOFF / Day 1: Monday, June 10—Beech Bend Raceway Park, Bowling Green, Kentucky
  • Day 2: Tuesday, June 11—Nashville Superspeedway, Lebanon, Tennessee
  • Day 3: Wednesday, June 12—L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, Louisville, Kentucky
  • Day 4: Thursday, June 13—National Trail Raceway, Hebron, Ohio
  • Day 5: Friday, June 14—Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Indianapolis, Indiana

Power Tour is not the only motorsports and hot rod event coming to Bowling Green in 2024. National Corvette Caravan will take place Aug. 29 through Aug. 31 coinciding with the National Corvette Museum’s 30th anniversary. Regional caravans will form and join other caravans as they travel across the United States to meet in Bowling Green for four days of festivities at the National Corvette Museum.

An additional new and notable event this year is the Kyle Petty Charity Ride, led by NASCAR’s Kyle Petty, which will traverse across the U.S. on a week-long adventure, making a stop in Bowling Green on May 8 which will be the fifth day of the group’s trek. Funds raised from the ride will directly benefit Victory Junction – a camp in Randleman, North Carolina which helps children with chronic medical illnesses.

Returning in 2024 are several signature events already familiar to Bowling Green and Warren County including the NHRA Nostalgia Nationals, Camaro Fest, Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals, Holley LS Fest and more.
